The interview process involved a recruiter call, followed by a technical screening test (TPS), and then an onsite interview.
An interviewer called me. She was a young interviewer, and I could tell she was inexperienced by the way she asked me questions about my implementation.
Anyway, she asked me to implement a DFS-related question. I asked for some clarification by requesting examples. Once I received clarification, I implemented the solution, and it was quick. I still had 20 minutes remaining. At that time, she mentioned, "Since we are done early, do you have any questions for me?" I asked her about the role and the company's general culture. She was unsure about the work or the company's vision, surprisingly not knowing the company's roadmap. We ended the call after a brief chat.
Next week, I heard from the recruiter that I didn't meet their technical bar. I was like, "WTF! She was incompetent." I just hope Pinterest improves its interviewer quality. Google and other big companies do not let incompetent individuals conduct interviews.
DFS related question.
