Senior Software Engineer Interview Experience - India

Process

The interview process took around two weeks. It was an okay-ish experience overall.

There were four rounds in total:

  • Round 1 & 2: These rounds focused on basic software engineering knowledge, networking, databases, and past work experience.
  • Round 3 (LLD): I was asked to discuss, design, code, and run a module for a "Product Review System." I completed the task within the given time, but the feedback was that I should have finished it in less than an hour.
  • Round 4 (HLD): I was asked to design a notification system in less than an hour. I was able to come up with a decent design.

Following this, there was a debrief session. I was then called and informed that I was selected. The number discussion was also done the same day.

Here comes the worst part: they never called after that. Upon following up numerous times, they informed me that they hired someone better. While this is fair, please do not waste our time. Be kind and respectful of the time we invested in the interview process. It's just a waste of time, as many of the feedbacks state here.
