A recruiter reached out via LinkedIn and set up an introductory meeting.
After that, I had a meeting with a senior Engineering Manager (30-45 minutes).
Following that were two rounds with a senior/staff engineer (45 minutes each), delving into technical details.
The last round was a live coding session with screen sharing (60 minutes), where the assignment was to create a directory explorer component similar to VS Code. I had the freedom to choose any technologies. I did not finish with a working component, but I believe the intention was to assess my API design approach and problem-solving methodology.
After those rounds, I received an offer.
I found the process quite lightweight and efficient: short meetings, no take-home assignment, and fast offer negotiations, largely because the recruiter discussed salary expectations upfront.
In the technical interviews, there were no LeetCode-style questions; they were very focused on previous relevant experience and cultural fit.
How would you set up a design system that is future-proof?

Create a file directory component.
