I passed the online round and had two further video interviews on HackerRank. The challenges in the online round were very easy, while the questions were much more difficult. The challenges in the video interviews were average.
Overall, the recruiters and interviewers were very friendly. They didn't try to stress you out and were helpful with hints if needed. Asking questions is very important during technical interviews.
This was not the only interview I have done for a tech company this year, so I could compare:
The interview process fails to assess candidates on topics where experience matters, like software design and architecture. It focuses on topics suitable for fresh university graduates. I was surprised there were no soft skills questions.
I decided to terminate the interview process as I wasn't completely satisfied with the position, interview, and tech stack.
I would highly recommend solving approximately 20 challenges on HackerRank as a warm-up prior to the interview. Despite my not-so-great experience, I would still recommend the company to applicants and would even apply again should a more suitable position be opened.
