I was approached by a recruiter from the company via LinkedIn for a call regarding a management position on the DFM firmware team. I have extensive experience in this area, so I was pleased they found and reached out to me.
I arranged the call and spent the intervening time researching the company, its culture, and its products. I also listened to some company presentations on their website and YouTube to prepare.
During the phone call with the recruiter, I was asked about my last position and salary expectations. That was pretty much it. I remained polite and respectful throughout. The call took 11 minutes in total.
A couple of days later, I was informed they wouldn't proceed with my application (even though I hadn't actually applied – they reached out to me). I asked the recruiter several times for feedback to help me understand what I might have been missing, but I was ghosted completely.
I am confused and disappointed by my experience with the company and their poor communication.
Tell me about your last position.
