Software Engineer Full Stack Interview Experience - San Francisco, California

December 1, 2018

Process

Referred by a current employee.

I took a HackerRank test, which was easy.

Then, I went through one out of two on-site interviews, which was very easy.

Afterward, the recruiter told me, "they did not feel that it was going to be a match with our current role."

So, even though I did well during the on-site, and received positive feedback from both interviewers, I am not moving forward. This feels entirely arbitrary on Pure Storage's part.

Questions

Given an event that is fired only once and multiple threads can register callbacks, all to be fired after the event occurs, how to prevent race conditions and ensure all callbacks are called properly.

Buddybits: Given an array of bits where each level above is composed as the logical AND (&&) of the two below, how to propagate changes by setting a range to all zeros, and in another operation, setting all to ones.
