Senior Hardware Engineer Interview Experience - India

Process

The interview was primarily for an RTL design verification role. Due to the pandemic, the whole process was online.

The interview went pretty smoothly. There were 3 rounds, of around 1 hour each, although the time limit stretched upwards of an hour for the 2nd and 3rd rounds.

I would like to list my observations:

  • The whole panel was nice and knowledgeable. There were no irrelevant questions, except regarding the work I had done.
  • There was no sense of rush, and I was given enough time to answer.
  • Screen sharing and the ability to draw and explain helped tremendously.
  • Every one of them took enough time to explain my role, should I be selected.

Questions

A problem on SV constraints was very common across all three interviews.

Questions arose regarding my previous employment projects, including the overall flow and where I fit in.

Practical problems (FIFO, counter, etc.) were presented, and I was asked to set up the verification flow around them.

Was this helpful?
