The interview process consisted of two steps: a phone screening and an on-site interview.
The phone screen was performed by two individuals, with each session lasting 30 minutes. The primary objective of the phone screen was to review the resume and verify that the candidate possessed the skills they claimed to have. The phone screen was conducted by engineers, and all questions pertained solely to my resume.
The on-site interview process began with an HR email requesting possible interview dates. Once the dates were finalized, travel arrangements were managed by Balboa Travels, who assisted with booking accommodation, a rental car, and flight tickets.
The on-site interview started with an HR representative. We discussed my resume, salary expectations, and relocation assistance. This was followed by interviews with management-level personnel, such as a Director or Senior Director. The discussion primarily focused on cellular communication and the challenges of designing software for cellular base stations.
This was followed by a lunch break, which was handled by an engineer. He discussed a typical day at Qualcomm and explained the company's various perks. After lunch, I had two intensive technical interview sessions. All questions were about C programming and embedded software design. Emphasis was placed on function pointers and writing code with a minimal memory footprint.
