Pros: Fast-moving, interesting work.
Lots of leading-edge technology in the database realm.
Great resources, training, and contracted vendor experts (dedicated support engineers).
Truly a world-class IT organization.
Really an excellent place to grow your skills.
Good salary and benefits.
Really smart people and good managers at the lower end.
Treated me very, very well for 15 years until I got laid off, and then they treated me even better in the transition out.
No complaints.
Just sad to go.
Cons: Unfortunately, as with all companies moving from the entrepreneurial phase to an older, more established phase, some bureaucracy is creeping in. Lots of night and weekend work. But then they were always very fair in terms of compensation and adjustments of work time and location.
Company is struggling in the marketplace right now. Hence the RIF that I was caught up in.
