Pros: Good benefits and salary with smart people.

Cons: Awful WLB. Managers are disengaged. Upper management only cares about business. They don’t take your career goals and daily satisfaction into account and only prioritize business needs. Also, there's a 5-day in-person mandate, or they basically said you can leave the company or they’ll let you go.

Pros: I learned a lot. It was a good environment.

Cons: Easy task, not quite exciting.

Pros: + Remote work during COVID. + Pay is not bad in San Diego for software engineers (maybe at top companies).

Cons: - Odds are you're likely going to work with many people on your team (if in engineering) that are intelligent, or at least enough to do their job with minimal assistance needed. I have found many teams are comprised of conservative and boring people. - Upper management tends to blame their many ineptitudes on the lower ranks instead of taking responsibility for their unrealistic timelines. This causes line managers to work their employees longer hours. Working 50-65 hours a week (sometimes more if on the embedded or testing side of the house) is not uncommon, even during COVID.
