This is good for starting a career for software engineers. Work for 2 to 3 years, and you'll learn a lot. After that, you'll do well if you are in the superstar category.
If you like to write software that sits very close to the hardware, then this is a great place for you. It is also a great place if you want to work in research (RF, modem, wireless), as QC puts $1 billion+ in R&D every year.
In software groups, moving up on the ladder is through curve fitting, like a minimum of 3+ years in title, unless you are a superstar. Work-life balance is not a focus at lower titles. San Diego is not a great place for software jobs, so your best buddies from past years may not be around to hang out with you. If you don't care much for those friends and are fully driven by work, then Qualcomm is the place for you.
Applied online and was selected for an interview. I met with the department manager for an interview, which was conducted in his office. Though it shouldn't really matter, I couldn't help but notice that the interviewer and all the employees I saw
Focus on web technologies, WebKit, Android, Blink, and the open-source process. Whiteboard coding in a language of your choice (Java, C++, and Python are preferred). Be prepared to explain what you are doing as you whiteboard. Style seems modeled
The interview process was very good. There was first a phone screen. The phone screen was technical. If the candidate passed the phone screen, then there was a full panel interview with 4 people for a day.
