Pros
  • Compensation is pretty good.
  • Work/life balance is pretty good.
  • Nice perks like a gym, health center, etc.
Cons
  • It is a pretty soulless place to work (maybe not for all groups). You must enjoy doing tedious work, devoid of creativity. Most of the work involves logistics.
  • The career progression culminates in a routine of meetings and PowerPoint.
  • There are very few American engineers, which seems odd for an American location. Working there is like working in a foreign country, which is fun sometimes. But, it is difficult to not feel like an outsider as an American engineer.
  • There is very little diversity.
  • The culture is very passive-aggressive.
Advice to Management
  • Have directors communicate requirements between groups, and keep all lower-level people informed.
  • Each group should know how their decisions affect other groups.
  • Don't claim to be diverse when you are not.
  • Focus on the quality of the product, rather than just getting something out the door.
