I was getting interviewed during my notice period and I have come across a very negative interview process.
I cleared two rounds. The first round was a test, and the second round was technical. That also went smoothly.
The third round also went very well, and HR even confirmed a positive response from the team. But after one week, HR called me saying I hadn't done "really well" in the overall process but that they were referring me for another role. I told them that earlier it was confirmed as positive.
After some time, I told HR to drop my candidature if it wasn't a positive response, but HR kept telling me they were processing me for another role.
Next role interview:
Again, I cleared two rounds. But in the third round, the interviewer asked me around 7-8 programming questions, and I got stuck on the very last question, and hence it ended there.
Overall, if you don't want to hire someone or a position got filled, please say it directly to candidates. But please don't do this to reject a candidate purposefully.
