Cons
  • Toxic work culture.
  • Top-down work leading to unrealistic delivery expectations.
  • Product development engineers (PDEs) are held in low regard compared to SDEs. These are two different families.
  • PDEs are expected to work at the same level as SDEs despite receiving lesser pay and recognition, and being discriminated against by old-timers in the company.
  • No attempt is being made by management to address the above systemic issues.
  • Many talented senior engineers are leaving.
  • Incapable leaders.
  • Directionless management.
  • Fewer seats in the office compared to people.
  • HR and leadership attempts at strong-arming employees in their notice period.
Advice to Management
  • Merge the PDE family into SDE and streamline the pay and work expectations properly.
  • POS, which is a huge chunk of where company money goes into, has currently leaders incapable of providing any solid leadership or direction to work.
