Pros

Very good fringe benefits and decent wages.

Probably will IPO some day for real after a decade of fumbling.

Interesting challenges, still small enough for individuals to make a difference.

Cons

Rewards showmanship over thoughtfulness. Entertaining presentations get the attention.

The company takes many days off during the work week for hack weeks, parties, and other feel-good events, when we should be working on the product.

Toxic managers exist and are retained, while people run away from them.

Chaotic product decisions are the company’s legacy.

Site is down a lot.

Advice to Management

Get your egos in check. You don’t have much time to fix this. Social media is ending and evolving, while Reddit struggles to keep the site from crashing daily.
