Backend Developer Interview Experience - Moscow, Russia

Process

The interview process involved several stages:

  • An interview with HR.
  • A home assignment where I was asked to develop a CRUD service using Spring Boot and Java.
  • A technical interview with a live coding session.

I was disappointed that the interviewers reviewed my home assignment only 10 minutes before the on-site technical interview. It felt as though they only wanted to see if I would complete the assignment at all.

Furthermore, they repeatedly asked me questions about NoSQL databases, despite my stating that I had limited experience and could not describe their internals.

Questions

How do collections work?

What is the CAP theorem?

What is the difference between NoSQL databases?

How do transactions work in Hibernate?
