Process
The interviewing process consisted of three stages:
- Test on a web platform
- Technical Android interview with an interviewer
- System Design interview, where a backend system had to be designed, covering all backend-specific technologies and approaches. Android technologies were not in the scope of this interview. The interviewer confirmed this is usual and many people are confused during the actual interview, so there was no mistake.
This last peculiarity was not mentioned before the interview.
Questions
The test had several multi-choice questions and one coding challenge, with a time constraint.
The technical Android interview included usual and mandatory questions about Android development. Nothing special.
The System Design interview demanded designing a backend for a certain functionality of a mobile app. Yes, given the target position is Android dev, backend skills were assessed during this session.

The Android technology stack is relatively modern, and dedicated platform teams manage infrastructure, ensuring optimization and currency.
With numerous products available, you can find the ideal activity that aligns with your interests and experience level.
At Revolut, you'll have a clear approach to handling buggy or legacy code, as the engineering culture promotes gradual and planned code evolution toward improved maintainability and reduced errors.
Cons: As a bank, Revolut has to follow high standards for not only Revolut applications but also for the frameworks and libraries those applications use.
So, sometimes it takes time until certain technology, framework, or library becomes mature enough to be incorporated into Revolut mobile applications in particular.
