Following interview rounds:
After the complete interview loop, they added yet more rounds (another partnership and final round with SVP) even after the original loop was very positive. They mentioned it is a change in interview process, but could be just stalling tactic to buy time for some other candidate to go through. Before the last "extra rounds" were introduced I did mention my salary expectations which was near/above the top end of the range for the job, which could have played a part in going for another "cheaper" candidate. In the end recruiter was honest enough to admit it - they liked my candidature but would prefer to go with another candidate. I liked many of the people I interviewed with and was looking forward to joining this company in the Reno location.
