Everything about my interview process was superlative.
I worked with an internal recruiter who was able to stand out in a sea of LinkedIn "cold calls." He brought me from not actively seeking employment to a conclusion that I might be a good fit, found an open position that interested me, scheduled multiple calls during the technical and leadership interviews with preparatory instructions and feedback from each, and guided me through an intense day of on-site interviews. I have no doubt that his efforts were instrumental in getting me through to the final round of interviews, performed on-site in Riot's Santa Monica office.
Each stage of the interview was thoughtful and thorough. I was consistently impressed by the depth of knowledge of the interviewers, the difficult and multi-faceted questions, and their pressing for answers from me beyond the standard responses. They clearly wanted me to be candid and objective. Conversely, each interaction brought me a better understanding of Riot's culture and vision. I also remarked to several people that the interviewers consistently struck me as people with whom I would love to work.
I also appreciate that they were able to conclude the day of on-site interviews with a decision not to offer me a position. This kind of open communication seems to be getting more and more rare in comparison with other companies with which I have interviewed. I found the entire process to be a fair assessment of my abilities and was able to exit the building knowing that I had done everything I could.
