Pros

I would say unlimited PTO, but you might not have your job back when returning from vacation. The company is growing rapidly, so even if you exercise this perk, there are consequences. The perk is there to keep the company competitive.

Cons

If an issue arises and is shared with your manager or HR, you will be retaliated against. This all depends on if the person you are having a conflict with is favored. The company structure looks strong, but the people in it don't know what they're doing or do not have the backbone to stand up for themselves in fear of retaliation.

Advice to Management

Stop asking your favored or new employees to write 5-star reviews to mask the negative ones. These reviews are meant to be written so you would see them and do something about it (the right way!). Rivian is a great company (at least it used to be).

RJ, you are a humble and honest leader. However, you are surrounded by leaders who are there for their own self-interest (making a name for themselves because the company is attracting big-name investors). The culture that you built in the past (which attracted your 2nd investor) is diluted or gone. You have an HR team that does not embody your vision and values. They rather instill fear using their titles and power. Re-assess who is part of your team if you care about the future of your company. Do not let fame change who you are. Please stay genuine.

The people never used to care about working long hours because they enjoy each other's company. Good luck!
