Cons: It's not cool for school.

Pros: I've been a member of the Roblox community for over 10 years, and getting to contribute to the platform as an engineer is a dream come true! The atmosphere here is very relaxed and vibrant. There's plenty of heads-down work, but it's also common to see people gathered in the snack room for a lively conversation. The work-life balance here is great.

Cons: It's unclear to me where my career is headed, and the Bay Area is very expensive. Roblox pays well, but I'm only barely profiting while living here.

Pros: Generally, the pay is good. The office has decent perks.

Cons: No real culture. Product is somewhat stale and growth is slowing. A lot of "yes" men/women in leadership positions. No diversity focus at all. CEO continually makes huge mistakes and doesn't own up to them. Most of his company speaks hinges on "historical context" of when he was an engineer (if I hear about how he was right for not building a "Flash" version, I am going to lose it). CEO and a lot of leadership are super involved in technical decisions, and most often are wrong about them. Challenging management will get you pushed out. No trust. Even the smallest conference or expense needs to be approved and scrutinized by your VP. RTO killed all trust.
