Even from what happened, I can't say it's a bad place to work.

First of all, this is a young and old company. It's 10 years old and has a lot of young people, so it feels very fresh. On Friday, we will invite our younger users to take a tour of our working space; that's very warming. And sometimes we will also invite a child with a serious illness to take a tour here. That's especially warming to me because for my whole life, I have been facing death due to my illness. That's why my conversation with those children could really be inspiring.

Second, the organization is kind of flat. In theory, you could just walk up to anyone in the company and talk to them. I would recommend everybody try to talk to the CEO at least once. It will be a very inspiring moment. No money could be compared to that kind of experience. It will have a very large impact on your later life. But I have felt the pressure from my director and manager, which made me extremely nervous when actually talking to our CEO. After all, he is the CEO, the most special man in the company.

Third, you have free lunch, gym access, and other benefits. I have to say a word or two about lunch. Don't get me wrong, I am very serious about food. So, let me put it this way: most of the time, the food here is really, really bad. For a few times, the food is good. For some other moments, the food is good but not cooked. Can you believe they will serve not fully cooked chicken thigh? If that scares you, then you are being naive. Not fully cooked pig meat, raw rice, raw noodles, and hotpot, you name it. Even my coworker, who is way less picky than me, will have to make a sandwich to avoid other "meals" provided. If you are a vegetarian, you will always find something you like.

Fourth, work is most challenging, and that's why people can grow. No pain, no gain, remember this? Here, depending on your job, you will be using all kinds of languages to support our product on PC, Mac, iOS, Android, and Xbox. Oh, by the way, if you are driving, we have plenty of parking space. I mean, plenty of parking space. Since our headquarters is located in a very nice place, you will have a very enjoyable environment to take a walk when you need to get away from work a little.

Cons

It definitely makes my heart bleed to talk about this part.

One of our values is "get it done". So, a lot of people and I would work on the weekend to get stuff done. From director to manager to the employee, everybody would do that. And I know some worked like that, every weekend.

And that's one of the potential reasons that got me fired.

I was diagnosed with a kidney issue when I was young. Born from a poor family meant I never had money to cure it. So, for most of my life, I was waiting for death one way or another. But I am a proud person; I will never be treated like I am less than others simply because I was never fully healthy. So, most of the time, I wouldn't talk about my disease. In fact, I don't really know anyone who will talk about his or her disease all day.

So when I was hired by Roblox, I was extremely appreciative of the chance they gave me. It stands to reason for a person like me, working at the weekend? No problem. I never and will never complain about that. But it seems that in the end, it affected my health. It seems from the year 2019, I have gradually lost my thinking abilities. I can remember I requested to meet the CEO once. I asked him, what's the most important ability to create such a meaningful company. He said: "Never give up". For a person whose whole life has been working in darkness, I know what "Never give up" means. And at that time, the toxins had already built up in my body that I couldn't think of any response. How useless I was.

There is a saying that goes, misfortune never goes alone. Then everything seemed to crash little by little, while I couldn't really figure out what happened. I had been taking medicines that my family bought in China and shipped to me, but it seems, in the end, my time was running out. During that period, one of the co-workers noticed my condition when we all were trying to get something to ship. He said this to me: "Have you forgot what you have learned?" And then suggested me to rest awhile. I tried, but my eyes couldn't really read code line by line. No kidding there. And then my condition sometimes was a little better, sometimes was worse.

In the end, I was fired due to poor performance. HR insists the reason I was fired was due to poor performance for sure. It's like firing a runner for running slow when he broke his leg; an NBA player fired because he couldn't score while he lost his hand; a taxi driver was fired because he couldn't get enough customers when he had lost his eyesight.

My life since then has been hell. You can imagine you are living in an actual nightmare. Until I finally couldn't hold on anymore, I was in the hospital. Such a fool I was, always trying to hold on. I do remember a sentence the HR was trying to fire me: "It doesn't matter if you sign the documents or not, it will be executed." I had told them I was sick in the email. I was angry, despairing, and sad. I would never say something like this to a patient who looks about to die.

With that, I have no choice but to search for a legal method. I tried to talk to HR when I was finally recovered. But it still seems talking won't do much. After all, if apology worked, why do we need police?

If you read all mine comments, thanks. I will probably update later. This is my biggest complaint. The company's goal is to powering imagination. A murderer will not be able to build a society that people love each other. Will the company be able to power imagination for children all over the world, when my story has such a sad outcome?
