I applied online.
Submitted application, got a first interview with the recruiter. After, I got a response that the recruiter reached out to the hiring team and I'm not a fit for them.
I think it is fine, unless it is more of a disrespect to the candidate's time not to first reach out to the hiring team to show the CV, and then get a call with the candidate. I mean, it's not that the screening of the recruiter adds much to my application, because it was just me repeating what I already had in my CV.
My impression was that the recruiter just wanted to add some level of importance to themselves, to show that they can also make decisions, which, in reality, they cannot.
