Process

The recruiter called first. Since I said that I'm actively searching for a job and am attending interviews with other companies, he skipped the HR Manager round and arranged for a technical round directly.

The technical round was a video conferencing round with two Technical Leads on the panel.

Questions included:

  • Java: What is a constructor?
  • What is static?
  • What is the difference between public and private?
  • In Selenium, how will you handle a page with CSS elements that constantly change? (He was expecting an answer around POM - Page Object Model).

The third round was a HackerRank challenge.

The HackerRank challenge required writing a program and testing it. The program was to create a Friendship app with methods to makeFriend(), unmakeFriend(), getDirectFriends(), and getIndirectFriends(), along with JUnit tests for all these methods.

It was a program for a developer. As a tester, this was too much to be completed in 2 hours.

Questions

How will you find an element using CSS selectors where the properties of the element constantly change?
