Senior Software Engineer Interview Experience - India

Process

Virtual interview.

Had only the first two rounds.

The first round was decent.

The second round was pathetic. I felt the interviewer was very biased and not ready to explain the problem.

It felt like most interviewers from that particular base are biased against others.

Questions

I am putting it exactly how the biased interviewer posed the question: "In a railway station, trains are arriving at every 10 minutes, another train arrives once in every 15 minutes. How many platforms does the station have?"

I asked for multiple clarifications on the question (listed below), and always received the same annoying reply: "The question is clear. Do you have any questions?"

  1. Me: So, there are two trains? Interviewer: No answer, but humming something...

  2. Me: So, it spans multiple days? Interviewer: "The question is clear. Do you have any questions?"

  3. Me: Can you give me a sample input/output? I am unable to understand. Interviewer: "The question is clear. Do you have any questions?"

In between, he got busy with the other monitor. Whatever I asked or said, he kept humming something.

I shared the interview feedback with HR, and as everyone knows of this Salesforce (or Microsoft) Hyderabad culture, I received no acknowledgment. I think, as most employees are from that particular state, their intention is to reject outsiders.
