I initially interviewed for a different position: Program Director. I had two separate video interviews, one of which was a panel interview. Throughout the process, the recruiting partner constantly provided me with updates and ample information about who I was speaking with.
I was informed I wasn't the right fit for that position, but they would look for another role for me. I initially took this as typical recruiter "talk" – essentially a rejection.
To my surprise, the recruiting partner continued to follow up with updates. Finally, they found a position that was a right fit and handed me over to a new recruiting partner, who was extremely helpful in discussing the role and providing me with updates.
Due to Dreamforce and resource planning, my process took a very long time – about four months. However, I am greatly appreciative of the two recruiting partners I worked with for their consistent updates on the process. Since this was my #dreamjob, I stayed committed.
I am happy to report that I have accepted an offer and will start in the new year.
Since this was a program director/solution architect position, they were eager to find out how I worked with customers.
