Software Engineer (Internship) Interview Experience

Process

I attended several university recruiting events on campus and submitted my resume online and in person.

I received a HackerRank assessment soon after, but then waited about a month to get an interview.

I completed the behavioral interview, and one week later, I had the technical interview. Three days after the technical interview, I received an offer for the internship.

Great people, salary, and technical challenges

Pros: - Worked very closely with my team, delivering work directly applicable to the team on a very customer-facing product as an intern. - Had lots of opportunity to hear from the CEO and executives. - Received monthly Fridays off for wellness plus $100 monthly reimbursements for wellness activities. - Good salary. - Relaxed deadlines and no "grinding" or "tech bro" culture. - Received lots of swag. - Experienced lots of clarity about expectations and how to reach them. - Received lots of support from recruiters and the intern team. - Everyone is super nice, friendly, and open about feedback and helping you. - Even though I failed to get an offer from one team, my recruiter passed my information to another team where I received an offer.

Cons: The smallest con: since I started in June, a lot of the intern events happened in the beginning and more in May. So, at around the halfway mark, there wasn't a lot of engagement from the intern team.
