The personal interview took place with two managers at the headquarters in Munich, one of whom was the direct supervisor. I was allowed to present a project/product from my current field of activity (anonymized, of course).
However, the presentation was supposed to address previously defined focal points, e.g., presenting a technical topic/issue adequately to a CEO/CIO, what problems existed in the project, and how they were addressed.
Most of the questions in the interview then revolved around the presentation and its content. The whole process was rounded off with questions about my own professional background.
The conversation was very friendly and open from the very beginning. Both interviewers showed a very high level of professional competence, which was reflected in some subtle questions.
However, before the actual job interview took place, I had to go through various telephone interviews.
It began with an initial 60-minute conversation with the direct manager to explore my professional background and potential opportunities at Salesforce. The whole process was initiated by a personal recommendation.
This was followed by two 45-minute telephone interviews on the topics of Consulting and Architecture/Technologies, conducted by members of the team.
The architecture questions covered a broad spectrum, from data modeling to interfaces and migration scenarios.
The consulting questions ranged from team building and handling criticism to resolving conflict situations.
Both colleagues were also very friendly, open-minded, and competent. Between the individual conversations, there were always coordination/feedback rounds with the responsible recruiter in GB. She was also very friendly and always helpful.
