Pros

Nice office. OK pay. Branded product.

Cons

Large middle management layer across the whole organization. Not difficult to find in some teams there are more middle-level managers or managing persons (regardless of their titles, that might be corrected for meeting the ratio of manager vs. engineers) than real hands-on engineers.

Micromanagement everywhere, which demotes an autonomous working style, reduces motivation, and decreases creativity. Not much room for a person who wants to pursue a technical career path.

Workloads are much higher since the recent layoff. Working hours can be very long if you have counterparts in different time zones.

Advice to Management

Increase operational efficiency, reducing the ratio of M vs. E.

Avoid excessive supervision or micromanagement. Encourage open communication and collaboration among team members, allowing for a culture of trust and accountability.
