Pros: Perks that other Silicon Valley startups also provide, like good snacks, free food, commuting benefits, and decent health insurance.
Sanjit is an inspiring and innovative leader.
Cons: Too many cons:
* Company doesn't care about career growth for employees that work hard and go above and beyond.
* Teams like Sales Ops need better leaders; new leadership is MIA. They literally slow down cross-functional teams that work with them.
* People Team is even worse – they're so clueless and get defensive for every feedback they receive. People partners work against the employees and don't help with career development.
* Poor work-life balance.
* Low compensation.
* Terrible middle management.
* High attrition rate.
* Low employee morale.
* Existing employees are not valued, and the company thinks they can easily replace folks that leave.
* New managers that are hired are often shooting in the dark.
I left for a much better startup for a leadership position where my contributions are valued and mental health is prioritized. Samsara would have never realized my leadership potential, even if I had stayed there for 5 more years.
