Process
The interview process was very efficient and extremely professional.
It started with a manager, who is now my direct manager, reaching out to me on LinkedIn. They discussed Samsara and shared a couple of engineering blogs regarding what Samsara does. The manager's outreach made me feel that they wanted 'me' specifically, not just another number in the machine.
All my subsequent communications with the hiring team, recruiter, managers, and engineers were extremely professional.
They honored other commitments I had and worked with my schedule. We ended up scheduling essentially a full day of interviews.
Every interview was interesting. There were no "dummy" problems like LeetCode, but actual, fun engineering problems to solve.
No one was late to any meeting. The entire process was professional.

Unless you're drinking buddies or old friends with management and the executive team, this will probably be the worst place you'll ever work at. Promotions are given based on how much you're liked and how much you advertise your work (no matter how small) rather than how capable you are. - A ton of senior engineers that would be entry-level at any other company. The technical decisions some of these engineers make are so bad that I wonder if I'm getting dumber having to constantly course-correct their projects. I should be able to trust my peers to do their jobs well. - Management uses PIPs as a scare tactic. I've seen good engineers get PIPed for not being a "team player" or for some other unknown criteria because they spoke to a coworker about not being happy. - I've heard of people being retaliated against for wanting to switch teams. - CTO is MIA. - The technical stack isn't complicated. The complexity is the massive amount of tech debt and bad code design.
