I applied online in late May 2020 and received an email from an SAP recruiter two weeks later. This email asked a list of roughly 10 questions. I promptly replied with all my responses.
Seven days later, I received an invitation for an interview (Sunday night), asking for my availability for the upcoming week. Having a few other commitments that week, I requested an interview later in the same week.
I was very excited and looked forward to the interview. I prepared with technical interview questions all week, during virtually any free time I had. I also reached out to current SAP employees in my network to learn as much as I could about Concur Spend as a product and the teams within it. The night before, I stayed up late trying to practice as much as I could on different interview scenarios.
Then came the morning. I woke up early, had breakfast, and was walking myself through the different interview questions in my head when I received an email from SAP recruiting. Strange. Perhaps something changed and they had to reschedule. Nope, they cancelled the interview 2.5 hours before my scheduled time. Wow, I was upset. I was in shock. I felt like my time was wasted. I had a midterm the next day and neglected to study for it just so I could ace this interview. I felt pretty terrible to be led on by SAP and left stranded at the very last moment. They made no alternative accommodations for me and wished me well for my job search. I followed up with the recruiter and asked if I would be considered for any other positions. I felt strongly positive about the company and wanted to work for them. I haven't received a response back.
I know this probably isn't representative of SAP as a whole company. However, I really wished to have been treated with more respect.
The interview was cancelled 2.5 hours before and they did not reschedule.
