Pros
  • Very good benefits.
  • Nice office with a good and free canteen and free parking spaces (not common in central Berlin).
  • Very good work-life balance; basically no overtime. (For the few times it is needed, you can shorten work time the following week.) This depends on the role and team, though.
  • Direct managers are very good; they help you to develop and take responsibility for you.
  • Really good and broad career opportunities, especially for techies.
Cons
  • Restructurings in the last two years caused disruptions and unclear team/org goals.

  • Salary is lower compared to other larger tech/German manufacturing companies. For the Berlin area, though, pay is competitive, especially considering great work-life balance and benefits.

  • Three required in-office days per week (depends on the team whether this is enforced).

Advice to Management

I think the management did a good job in the last years, looking at the situation SAP was in before 2020 compared to now. The management should focus more on the employees' perspective again, though, since there is a lot of grievance among the employees now. Base pay was only slightly increased in the inflation years, leaving a lot of employees now with less available income compared to 2019.
