This was for an infrastructure role. The stages were: Screen, Tech Test, Tech Interview, and Offer.
The screen went really well. Then, I was given a two-hour timeboxed script to review and either fix it or write comments on it. I didn't approach it tactically and submitted a bit of a mess, which meant I didn't progress.
No feedback was given on my work, leading to a poor review. I don't expect candidates to spend hours working on a tech test and not receive actionable feedback, regardless of the outcome.
The screening questions were all standard. The technical test involved taking an ugly script and fixing it. It was a very ugly script with unreachable code, etc. In my opinion, it would take someone with senior-level skills to fix that script cleanly within two hours.
