Cons

Micro-management. Biased leaders. People are entitled to take leaves, but few leaders think otherwise. No value to your opinions and perspectives (depends on your leaders). Forcing team members to do certifications as per their wish and curated by them, irrespective of job role. These leaders will make sure it converts into performance feedback rather than judging a person by their capabilities and work.

Advice to Management

Few leaders always strive to show numbers to higher-ups. These numbers are not about work. But these numbers are part of their own goals to showcase, 'We did these, we did that.'

Few examples:

  • Irrespective of job role, forcing every team member to do professional-level certifications and saying there is no other option. This is so that they can project those numbers to higher-ups, saying under them, they enabled these many team members as certified professionals, though our job role doesn't need those skills.
