It was weird – they asked to write some not too complex C# code to implement a multi-value dictionary. That is relatively easy to accomplish; however, they insisted this should be done using some online web tool instead of normal Visual Studio.
This tool is too limiting for seasoned developers. It is like asking a surgeon on an interview to perform surgery using a wooden scalpel and no other equipment that is usually used during normal routine surgeries.
I'm not sure what they tried to accomplish with this "exercise" or what useful skills they intended to test with it. This might be suited to a recent graduate; however, recent graduates will not be really applying to this position.
