Mandatory take-home coding challenge/project needed to even apply. Then was a life story interview, which was very chill. Next was a technical interview, with the first part in which you describe and go through one of your past projects, and the second half was standard coding questions.

Pros: Weekly 1-on-1s with assigned mentor.
Bi-weekly 1-on-1s with your lead.
They really want to make sure that you are on the right track.
There's always a steady amount of work to do, and you can see your impact right away after your code gets approved and merged.
Cons: Although there is a good amount of work, not all of it is "cutting edge or problems with astounding impact." There is a fair bit of maintenance tasks, bug fixing, and user support issues as well.
