Developer Intern Interview Experience - Canada

Process

There are two interviews. The first one is the "Life Story" with a recruiter, and the second is the Technical Interview with two developers. You only advance to the second one if you are chosen after the "Life Story" interview.

They tell you in advance what it's going to be like. Though it's a bit unusual to have to talk to someone who knows absolutely nothing about you (they don't even read your resume), I think it's a good way to get a general vibe from someone and see if they will fit into the team.

The second interview was also very informal.

First, they ask you to show some code you've made and talk about it. Then, they present a problem and ask you how you would go about solving it (no code, just talking or a whiteboard).

Overall, it's a fun process, and it seems to be more about who you are and how you think than where you come from or what you did before.
