The interview process was generally positive. Recruiters were responsive from start to end.

The pair programming interview questions were very down-to-earth, not something like implementing a binary search tree or similar. Communication was easy with the interviewers.

During the technical deep dive interview, the interviewer requested I talk about a recent project. It quickly became apparent that he wasn't satisfied with the project I chose and seemed uninterested. At the same time, he was constantly smoking his e-cigarette during the interview, which made me feel strange. I believe this would be considered inappropriate behavior by Shopify, and the interviewer himself, if a candidate were smoking instead.

The interview feedback I received for this last interview was as if it were written for someone else; it didn't sound like what I discussed during our conversation.
