Technical Interview

The technical interview was an easy problem, and they were only interested in your output. Not how you think and approach the problem, not stating your assumptions, not understanding edge cases of the problem, only the output. So you might as well shut up and code and show the result.

Life Story Interview

The life story interview was an absolute waste of time. This session was led by a recruiter, and to be honest, they are not interested in your life story at all. It's not clear how they are assessing this round, but I believe it is not an objective assessment. I answered the recruiter's questions honestly, but it seems like you need to pretend like you are dying to work for Shopify – a classic 'fake it until you make it' mentality.

Feedback was, "We are moving forward with other candidates." Such a waste of time. It took them three sessions to understand my background is not aligned with the role.
