Pros: Work-life balance makes commerce better.

Cons: Sometimes it will be busy. Overall, it’s good.

Pros: - Typically, teammates collaborate well and are happy to help others. - Good potential for career growth, depending on which team you land on. - Perks are okay, also depending on where you live.

Cons: Culture is going down the drain ever since the move to remote. This is not because of the remote factor itself, but because upper management has used the pandemic as an opportunity to start looking at employees as resources instead of human beings. There's a massive echo chamber at the top. Upper management feeds on the Shopify Kool-Aid. Terrible culture decisions are being made that benefit only upper execs. There's a lack of transparency. Town Halls and AMAs dodge questions they're not comfortable answering. There are too many stories of sudden layoffs and rapid changes made overnight. The company is growing too fast, too quickly. All engineers spend too much time interviewing (several hours a week) due to the high attrition the company is having. This is non-negotiable.

Pros: Friendly environment and lots of interesting work. Surrounded by smart people who are very willing to teach.

Cons: I got hella thick from the free food, lmao.
