The interview process was held virtually due to travel constraints preventing onsite attendance.
The first interview went well, but things changed during the second one. The problem was that management was unsure of what they were looking for in the position. They wanted someone with a technical background but who was also more on the business side of things.
This was not explained in the first interview, leading to a discrepancy in what was exactly wanted from the position. It also led to a difference in opinion on what the compensation would be.
