Process

I was approached for this position; I did not apply to anything. Once the HR representative got in touch, she began asking me questions like, "Why are you applying for this position?" (which I still knew almost nothing about, as I hadn't been provided a job description).

Once I made the situation clear, an in-person interview was set up – that was easy enough.

The first interview was fine. The follow-up was quick, and scheduling for the second interview was also fine.

The second interview was with two people, and that went fine (or so I thought).

Four weeks later, I finally received a response. This was after I wrote a couple of weeks after the second interview with no reply, and then again four weeks after the initial interview. The response simply stated that my "application wasn't successful in this instance."

Bear in mind, I was told during the interview that it would only take about a week and that, even in the case of a negative response, I'd be provided feedback. I received none whatsoever.

I want to emphasize that I'm happy at my current company and was not looking for anything when I was contacted and began this process. While it is never pleasant to receive a rejection, that is not the reason for this review. As an HR professional, I can say that the whole process was fairly unacceptable from a candidate's perspective.

I understand that we are all busy, but especially after interviewing with three people face-to-face, to not get in touch for a month and then provide no feedback at all does not make the candidate want to consider applying with the company in the future.

If Siemens HR & Recruiting reads this, please keep this review in mind for the future.
