Help your employees grow on the ladder. Don’t hide behind the veil by telling employees, “you own your career.” How is it possible to own our career when the development opportunities for employees have to be approved by management?
It is easy for leaders who have grown to the top to preach, “We are going to be a flat organization. We are limiting vertical growth, as this is the new way of working that we copied from start-up tech companies. People can develop laterally. If people don’t like it, they can leave.”
