Cons: Leadership doesn't know what it's doing. Salesforce refuses to leverage Slack properly. Growth is more limited than it should be.

Pros: Great benefits, a flexible work/life schedule, and opportunities to innovate. I work on a very collaborative team and have a great manager.

Cons: Priorities can change, so don't be married to any one idea or project. Slack is constantly testing things that never ship in the spirit of making sure what ends up in customer's hands is the right choice. Leveling up is hard because their criteria is quite intense compared to other companies.

Pros: It is easy to get things done on a monolithic architecture. We have good, direct teammates.

Cons: No RSU refreshers that come anywhere close to the initial grant, and do not expect to stay here longer than 4 years. Very stagnant for your software engineering career, because there aren't any interesting engineering problems to solve, which yeah, is a testament to how well Slack's architecture works. 0 growth opportunity. Team handed off to 4 different managers in as many months. Salesforce-influenced culture becoming very toxic.
