I went through six interviews, including a final one with the VP, but ultimately did not get the job.
I did wonder why they continued to call me for more interviews after I submitted the test. I knew something wasn't right. It was the first time in eight years I had written code in Node.js, and installing the tools and getting everything to run took up far too much of my time. I didn't have the bandwidth to do things properly.
Perhaps, just perhaps, they could consider asking for a test that doesn't require the candidate to set up a full infrastructure to solve it. I've encountered more tests like this recently, and it's a significant hassle to prepare a VM with all the necessary components for a test described as taking about four hours in total.
Naturally, this setup won't align with the actual time taken, and candidates will eventually disengage.
On the other hand, the discussions were actually quite good, and their staff appears to be high quality.
I've marked the overall experience as neutral. This is primarily because I didn't get the job, despite having high hopes, especially after securing so many interviews following the initial test.
