Avionics Flight Software Engineer Interview Experience - Seattle, Washington

Process

There are many steps in this process.

First, I took a 30-minute online C debugging quiz. It was pretty easy, though some of the answers seemed slightly ambiguous.

Then, I had a call with a recruiter for a general fit. The next step was to talk to one of the engineers on the team, which was about 45 minutes. I felt that it went well, but they decided not to continue with me.

My understanding of why is because they didn't think my background fit with the role. I am a mechanical engineer with a focus in control systems, and they were hiring for a software role. I would have liked a shot, as I am a pretty good programmer and I didn't see other roles that fit me better, but I understand their logic.
