Process

I applied online via their career website. The entire process took five weeks.

I received an email from the recruiter who asked me to pick time slots for an initial call. The call went well, and they proceeded to send me another email with a link to an online quiz. The quiz had 10 multiple-choice questions and was quite easy, mostly covering basic sysadmin topics.

Two weeks later, the recruiter emailed to inform me that the quiz went well and they wanted to schedule a technical deep-dive call.

I spoke with two engineers during the call, which also went well. They asked general Linux systems questions and then delved into specific details from my resume.

The following day, the recruiter reached out to let me know the phone interview was successful and that they wanted me to take another online exam.

The online exam is approximately 2.5 hours long and includes two essay questions and two programming questions. I was able to choose the topic for one of the programming questions, opting for Terraform as I am very comfortable with it. The other question was a bash scripting exercise.

I spent too much time on the essays, leaving me with limited time for the coding portion. I completed the bash question but encountered an issue with the Terraform question. A syntax error prevented me from seeing the full output of the executed code within Codility. I felt that approximately 99% of the code was correct. With only a few minutes remaining, I decided to revise my first essay instead of debugging the Terraform code.

Unfortunately, this was enough for them to discontinue the interview process. The recruiter called about a week later to inform me that they would not be proceeding.

My advice to anyone reaching the Codility exam stage is to have your own coding environment prepared, especially for Terraform. This will allow you to build the required solutions in your own environment and then copy-paste the code into Codility once completed.
