As a software engineer, I have gone through many interview processes, and Splunk's is one of the worst I've ever encountered.
Initially, my interactions with Splunk were promising, and I was genuinely excited about the prospect of joining the team. However, the post-onsite phase of the interview process proved to be incredibly frustrating and demoralizing.
Following the onsite interview, communication from the recruiter became sporadic. Other companies respond within two to three days, but it would take Splunk at least two weeks to provide any updates, leaving me in a state of uncertainty and limbo. Instead of providing clear feedback or a timeline for a decision, I was left feeling demoralized and undervalued.
What was particularly disheartening was the apparent lack of interest from the recruiting team if candidates were actively engaged with other companies. It seemed that Splunk was only interested in candidates who were desperate or had no other options. I was told to stop engaging with other companies, something I've never heard from other companies before. This approach prolonged the decision-making process even further, leaving me in a perpetual state of uncertainty.
Overall, my experience with Splunk's recruiting process was disappointing and unprofessional. The lack of transparency, communication, and respect for candidates' time was evident throughout the process, ultimately leading me to reconsider my interest in joining the company.
I sincerely hope that Splunk takes steps to improve its recruiting practices to ensure a more positive and respectful experience for future candidates.
