The typical interview process involved a manager interview, two coding interviews, and one system design interview. All went well, and the recruiter mentioned the team loved me, leading us to discuss total compensation and benefits. My last interview was with the VP. I normally do well in VP-level interviews because I am good at communicating. However, this VP was very odd, and I felt like she was trying to sabotage the interview. She asked me very detailed questions about work I did years ago and acted as if she had 'won' when I couldn't answer with the level of detail she expected. I really liked the team but believe they will have difficulties working for a VP like that. Ultimately, I believe I dodged a bullet by being rejected.
Typical medium-level questions.
The system design was more of a "let's talk about random things we run into at this job" discussion.
